But what is gamification?
Gamification can be defined as learning techniques or strategies through games in education, human resources and personnel selection environments. These techniques are intended to improve learning by enhancing concentration, motivation and effort.
The concept emerged around 2011, however, in 2003 it was mentioned by British computer programmer Nick Pellin, who had invented several key games in the 1980s.
From the beginning, the gamification began to be adapted to different business environments, being the participation of important designers who took the idea to congresses and conferences where the importance of having a playful experience, in a real world, was underlined. Thus the definition began to take on more clarity, being defined as “elements of game design in non-game contexts”.

This educational game technique has been strongly consolidated in the area of education, since, through the game, better results could be obtained among students, opening new horizons to teaching and learning methods.
They can also be applied in the areas of health and wellness, marketing, loyalty programs, education and management.
However, gamification, has become popular in recent years in the fields of training, performance appraisal and human resources. It aims to increase motivation, keep them more engaged and less burdened by daily routines.
In the case of personnel assessment and selection, gamification helps to have key information about candidates’ capabilities, versus conflict resolution and decision making.
